Holidu Payments: simpler operations, better security, more bookings

For partners distributing through NextPax to Holidu, payments are becoming a lot easier to manage. With Holidu Payments, the entire payment flow shifts from the property manager to Holidu—reducing operational work while improving performance.

Here’s what that means in practice.

What is Holidu Payments?

Holidu Payments allows Holidu to act as the Merchant of Record (MoR). In simple terms, Holidu takes over the full payment process.

That means:

• Holidu charges the guest directly
• Holidu handles payment processing and payouts
• You no longer receive or manage guest credit card data

As a result, payments, cancellations, and booking changes are handled differently than in a traditional setup.

What does it cost?

To activate Holidu Payments, partners need to sign a dedicated addendum with Holidu.

There is a 1.5% transaction fee, applied on top of Holidu’s standard commission.

Why use Holidu Payments?

The main advantages are efficiency, security, and improved booking performance.

More payment options for guests
Holidu can enable additional payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Paypal and other local options—making it easier for guests to complete bookings.

Less risk and fewer payment issues
You no longer need to deal with invalid or fraudulent credit cards. Holidu also takes care of chargebacks.

Access to B2B distribution
With payments handled centrally, Holidu can distribute your properties through its wider partner network—opening the door to additional bookings.

Lower cancellation rates
Data from the past 12 months shows that properties using Holidu Payments see around a 12% decrease in cancellations.

How to activate Holidu Payments in NextPax

Activation is straightforward:

1. Go to Channels → Channel Settings
2. Select Holidu
3. Navigate to General Settings
4. Enable Holidu Payments

Important:
Holidu Payments is currently only available for EUR markets. If you operate in other currencies, you should continue using your existing payment setup.

What changes after activation?

Switching to Holidu Payments comes with a few important operational changes.

No more credit card data
You will no longer receive guest payment details for Holidu bookings.

Cancellations and modifications via Holidu only
Bookings can no longer be changed via NextPax or your own system. Guests must manage cancellations or modifications directly through Holidu. Make sure your support teams are aware of this.

Security deposits must be ‘Paid At Location’
If you charge a refundable security deposit, it must be set as Paid At Location (PAL). Holidu does not process deposits or refunds.

Remove payment links
If you previously used payment links in booking confirmations, these should be removed. They are no longer allowed for collecting booking payments (only for deposits, if applicable).
