75% of travellers pay more for better-reviewed stays. Here's where to manage your Expedia Group reviews.

Reviews are one of the few parts of a property's commercial performance that are shaped almost entirely after the guest has left. They are also one of the hardest to keep on top of at scale.

For a manager with three properties, checking Expedia Group reviews is a task. For a manager with three hundred, spread across brands and markets, it is a process that quietly stops happening. Reviews go unanswered, patterns in guest feedback go unnoticed, and the properties that most need attention are the last to get it.

NextPax supports Expedia Group's Reviews API, which removes the main obstacle: the portal. If you distribute on Expedia Group brands through NextPax, this is available to you today. It is not enabled by default, though, which is why a number of partners are still working out of Expedia Partner Central without needing to. Below is what the connection covers, why it is worth using, who it applies to, and how to switch it on.

What is possible

Through the connection, Expedia Group guest reviews are available inside NextPax rather than only in Expedia Partner Central. That covers:

Retrieving approved reviews. Reviews collected after a guest checks out become available through the connection, including the review text, rating and reservation reference.

Aggregated ratings. Average scores per review category, so you can see how a property is performing on cleanliness or service without reading every individual review.

Responding to reviews. Replies can be submitted back to Expedia Group directly, without opening Partner Central.

For managers running a portfolio, the practical result is a single working surface for Expedia Group reviews instead of one login per property.

Why it matters commercially

Review quality is not a soft metric. In Expedia Group's 2025 Traveler Value Index, 75% of travellers said they are willing to pay more for lodging with better reviews. That willingness translates directly into what a property can charge and how often it converts.

Response behaviour matters too. A visible, timely reply signals an operation that pays attention, and it is often read by prospective guests more carefully than the review itself. The barrier to doing this consistently has rarely been willingness. It has been the number of systems involved.

Who this is for

The functionality is relevant to any NextPax-connected partner distributing on Expedia Group brands, and the benefit scales with portfolio size. Managers with a handful of properties gain convenience. Managers with hundreds gain a process that is realistic to maintain.

Reviews sit inside Messaging and Reviews, the section of NextPax Core that centralises guest communication and feedback for Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo and Expedia. There are three ways to consume it, depending on where your team actually works:

Unified inbox. For teams running operations out of NextPax Core. Messages and reviews from every connected channel aggregate into one inbox, with analytics and automation settings alongside them.

Email forward. For teams that would rather stay in the inbox they already use. Incoming reviews and messages are converted to email and sent to an address you nominate. When you reply, the response is converted back and delivered to the right channel and traveller.

Messaging and Reviews API. For PMS partners and accommodation partners on the Supply API who want to surface reviews inside their own product rather than in NextPax Core.

On the Expedia side, Reviews is one of four services NextPax supports in Expedia Partner Central, alongside Availability and Rates, Reservations, and Messaging. It has to be selected when you configure the connection, so if it was skipped at setup it will not be active.

How to get started

Three things need to be in place first: your accommodations must exist in NextPax Core, your account settings must be complete, and your channel and the Expedia Channel Settings must be filled out.

Before you can use Messaging and Reviews within NextPax, you need to provide us the allowance to handle this via Expedia Partner Central:

  1. Go to Rooms and rates → Connectivity settings and select Get started.
  2. Search for and select NextPax as your connectivity provider.
  3. Enable the services you want. Expedia links Availability and Rates to Reservations, so those two must be enabled together. Add Messaging and Reviews here. We recommend enabling all four.
  4. Check the confirmation screen and confirm. Expedia activates the integration.

Once that is done, enable Expedia for your accommodations in NextPax and data will begin syncing automatically. One ordering detail matters: only enable Expedia as a channel, and enable your accommodations for Expedia, after the Partner Central connection is in place.

For partners already distributing on Expedia Group through NextPax, this is a matter of selecting the service and confirming your settings rather than building a new integration.

Full documentation:

If your team works with AI tools, the NextPax MCP server exposes our integration documentation, API specifications and error references to them directly, useful when you would rather ask a question about the Messaging and Reviews endpoints than search for the answer.
