How to earn the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award?

In 2019 TripAdvisor launched a new preferred program, called Traveller’s Choice Award, to recognize properties with a Certificate of Excellence, being the Traveller’s Choice winners. As an accommodation partner, you’ll get a Traveller’s Choice badge on your winning accommodations, a promotional kit for marketing purposes, a widget to add on your brand.com website and access to a special merchandise store. You can win this award by making sure you have great reviews, are responsive to guest queries and provide overall, obviously, a positive experience.

What is the Travellers’ Choice awards assessment criteria?

The Travellers’ Choice awards are based on your overall performance throughout the qualification period (the previous calendar year). To win the award, you will have had to meet the following criteria throughout the previous year:

  • Response rate: needs to be 95% or higher
  • Acceptance rate: needs to be 90% or higher
  • Completed stays: you should have at least 3 completed stays (in your lifetime on the site, not just the last 12 months)
  • Bookings: during the qualification period you need to have had 3 or more bookings (this number is calculated across all listings on your account)
  • ​Cancellations by owner: 0 across all listings during the qualification period
  • Review score (during qualifying period): a total of at least 3 reviews with an average score of 4 or above
